Contracts for co-financing the costs of in vitro fertilisation were signed today at the City Administration in Smederevo with five couples who applied this year for this form of support in infertility treatment.
“The City of Smederevo will continue to provide funds to help couples who wish to have children and become parents.
Since 2008, we have financed this programme with RSD 32.5 million; it has covered 153 couples, there have been 19 successful procedures and 25 children have been born,” the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, said after the contracts were signed.
In 2024, two million dinars were allocated from the City of Smederevo budget for these purposes, that is, RSD 400,000 for each couple.
