Children’s Week in Smederevo continued today with a tree-planting campaign at three locations in the city: in the grounds of the “Bambi” kindergarten, Primary School “Dr Jovan Cvijić” and the Textile-Technical and Agricultural School “Despot Đurađ”.
This wonderful environmental initiative brought together our youngest citizens from kindergartens and pupils from Smederevo’s primary and secondary schools, who joined forces to make their surroundings greener and more beautiful.
The campaign was also supported by the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, who joined the young people in the grounds of the Textile-Technical and Agricultural School “Despot Đurađ”, where she planted new trees with them.
“I am extremely proud of our children and young people, who showed today what it means to love and care for your city.
A campaign like this is much more than just planting trees: it is an investment in a healthy future for all of us.
Raising environmental awareness from the youngest generations onwards is our shared duty and obligation. When we teach children from an early age to respect and nurture nature, we raise responsible people who will look after Smederevo tomorrow.
The City will always support initiatives like this, which bring together youth, community spirit and care for the environment,” said the Mayor.
