Looking back at the local government’s results in the year drawing to a close and announcing forthcoming projects, the Mayor, Jasmina Vojinović, today addressed representatives of Smederevo’s business, political, cultural and public life at a New Year reception at the City Administration.

“Another year is coming to an end, one that gave all of us the opportunity to work harder to improve life in our city and gradually restore Smederevo’s former glory, so as to bring it to the place it belongs to and deserves.
With joint efforts and love for our city, and with the enormous support of President Aleksandar Vučić, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the relevant ministries, we have managed to push the boundaries in solving even some decades-old problems, such as the projects to close the non-sanitary landfill and to clear the water area for the future marina. We have also worked on refurbishing schools and kindergartens, carrying out energy renovation, extending the gas network and other important tasks.
With the further construction of utility infrastructure and the strengthening of all the city’s potential, we will contribute to the stronger development of Smederevo, which is also part of the major “EXPO 2027” project, which gives us the chance to change the face of our city, making it more attractive in future to both investors and tourists,” the Mayor said, among other things, wishing everyone a happy and successful New Year 2025.
