Ahead of a significant anniversary, 65 years since the founding of the Centre for Social Work Smederevo, and in line with the Decision on Social Protection Rights of the City of Smederevo, the Centre has begun providing counselling-therapeutic and socio-educational services, now that the necessary technical and staffing conditions have been put in place.
On this occasion, the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, visited the Centre for Social Work today.

“The local government remains committed to improving the quality of life of all our fellow citizens. Citizens are always the focus of our attention, and recognising and responding promptly to their social needs is one of our priorities. That is exactly why we fully support the Centre for Social Work in developing new services that will be available to those who need them most. Our aim is to provide families, children and young people with professional support, to help preserve family relationships and to prevent problems that may threaten their development and safety,” the Mayor said.

This service is intended to provide counselling, therapeutic and educational support to families, partners and parents, with the aim of preserving the family unit, as well as to minors in conflict with the law or at risk of coming into conflict with the law, in order to prevent juvenile delinquency and reoffending.
The City of Smederevo continues to actively improve the social protection system, supporting the institutions it has founded and developing services that allow citizens to receive the professional help they need in their own city.
