The traditional agricultural exhibition “Village Yards”, which for years has been an essential and important part of the “Smederevo Autumn” festival, was officially opened today in the Large Town of Smederevo Fortress.
“The ‘Village Yards’ present the Smederevo area and its rural households in the best possible way. The Smederevo area is known for its top-quality grapes and wines, its hard-working householders and its successful agricultural production. The local government strives to help all producers, whose results and hard work it always proudly presents to visitors,” said the President of the City Assembly of Smederevo, Milan Perić, at the official opening of the exhibition, thanking all the exhibitors who, with this unique display of the finest fruits of autumn, help preserve the traditions and customs of our people.
The exhibition was then toured by the Deputy Mayor of Smederevo, Vladimir Nešić, the President of the City Assembly, Milan Perić, and the city leadership of Smederevo.
This year, nine rural local communities are taking part in the “Village Yards” exhibition together with women’s associations, which once again used their skills to evoke the connection with the customs and traditional values of the Smederevo area.
