As of today, Smederevo hospital has two new state-of-the-art machines, which will significantly improve the healthcare system in the city, with greater scope for timely diagnosis and successful treatment of disease.
These are an ultrasound machine, which thanks to advanced technology allows efficient work and a wide range of uses, from abdominal to cardiac imaging, and a high-quality digital mammography unit with tomosynthesis, used for the early detection of breast cancer, which will be in use from 9 April 2025.
“The mammography unit is particularly important to us, because we will be able to return to preventive examinations in order to prevent certain diseases.
As we have not had machines like these for a long time, a little more patience will be needed at first, but very soon after that, health examinations with this medical equipment will be carried out every day.
These modern machines were purchased with the help of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, which has once again confirmed that, through the cooperation of the local government and with the support of the relevant ministries, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, there are no problems that cannot be solved,” the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, stressed.
