In 2024, 827 citizens in the territory of the City of Smederevo obtained vulnerable energy customer status.
Interested citizens of Smederevo can submit an application for vulnerable customer status for electricity, natural gas and heat at the filing office of the City Service Centre, and can obtain the application form and further information at counter no. 8.

By definition, a vulnerable energy customer is a person in the household category (single or multi-member) living in one housing unit with one metering point at which the consumption of electricity or natural gas is measured, and consuming up to the maximum quantity of electricity or natural gas in accordance with the conditions laid down by law and by the decree regulating this field.
The criteria for obtaining the rights of a vulnerable energy customer are: financial situation, total monthly household income, number of household members, property status, entitlement to financial social assistance or child allowance, as well as to the increased care and assistance allowance, and the health of a household member.
Obtaining vulnerable energy customer status brings relief on electricity, gas and heating bills.
