Published

The Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, and the President of the City Assembly, Milan Perić, together with their associates, hosted a reception at the City Administration for a delegation from Motherson led by Younes Saadi, President of EUSA, responsible for the company’s operations in Europe and South America.

The company also includes a factory in Smederevo (PKC Wiring Systems DOO).

Improving cooperation between the local government and the factory, which employs around 2,000 people in Smederevo, and potential joint activities were the main topics of the meeting, along with a review of all the successes so far of the company, which has been operating in Serbia, and in Smederevo, since 2014.

“At that time, the opening of this factory was a turning point in the industrial and economic development of the City of Smederevo, and also a driving force for other new investors to come to our city.

Thanks to this investment, which was brought in by the then First Deputy Prime Minister and now President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, many of our fellow citizens found jobs and improved their living standards,” the Mayor said, among other things, expressing the hope that successful communication with the company’s management will continue in the years to come.

Mr Saadi spoke about the company’s continuous growth and global presence, with factories in Serbia in Smederevo, Požarevac and Ćuprija.

He stressed that Motherson is a globally socially responsible partner and that, in addition to achieving business results, it bases its operations on nurturing good partnerships in every local community where it operates, including Smederevo.
