Today, on behalf of the City, the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, signed a contract with the Ministry of Mining and Energy on co-financing the energy renovation programme under the project “Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency”.
“The City of Smederevo is an active participant in this project, which is being implemented in the Republic of Serbia until 30 November 2027.
The total value of the contract concluded today is RSD 30 million, of which RSD 12 million is the local government’s contribution and RSD 18 million is provided by the ministry.
“The fact is that more and more citizens of Smederevo are applying for co-financing of the costs of replacing windows, doors and boilers, installing solar panels or fitting heat pumps in their households, and in this way we want to help them.
The effects of this project will be felt through lower heating bills, but with this programme we are also helping to protect the environment from the air pollution we have during the heating seasons,” stresses the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović.
At the ceremonial presentation of contracts held in a hall of the Novi Sad Fair, the Minister, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, presented 137 contracts to local governments that had expressed interest in using funds from the project “Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency”.
On behalf of the host city, the guests at the ceremony were welcomed by the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Đurić.
