With the presentation of the festival awards and the musical “Some Like It Hot”, performed in honour of the award winners by actors of the National Theatre in Niš, the 41st Nušić Days came to a close this evening at the Smederevo Cultural Centre.
Based on the decision of the expert jury, the best production at the festival was “Address to the Nation”, performed by the actors of Atelje 212.
The audience also rated this production the best, so director Bojan Đorđev received two festival awards: the Nušić Award for best overall production based on the jury’s decision and the Nušić Award for best overall production based on the audience vote.
The “Milosav Buca Mirković” Award for the most successful acting performance at the 41st Nušić Days went to Belgrade Drama Theatre actor Ozren Grabarić for the role of Švejk in the play “Švejk”. Grabarić was told that the award will be presented to him at the next performance of the play, as other commitments prevented him from receiving it this evening.

The Nušić Lifetime Achievement Award for a comic actor went to actor Zoran Cvijanović, and the award was presented to him at the festival’s closing ceremony by the Deputy Mayor of Smederevo, Vladimir Nešić.
Thanking the jury and the City of Smederevo, as well as the audience, who greeted him with thunderous applause, Zoran Cvijanović said that it is very important that the festival’s founders are fighting to keep it going and are doing everything to ensure that the “Nušić Days” survive.
