The Mayor of Smederevo, Jovan Beč, together with Miša Ivković, Member of the City Council responsible for education, and Maja Ćirković, Member of the City Council responsible for culture, tourism and information, visited Smederevo Technical School, accompanied by the head teacher, Dejan Vemić.

In the gym of Smederevo Technical School, the worn-out parquet has been replaced with a new wooden sports floor, and the stands have been refurbished and fitted with new seats. The investment is worth RSD 9,932,034.00, of which the City provided RSD 3,293,034.60. The roof covering of the gym is also due to be replaced, together with the insulation, which would increase the building’s energy efficiency.
At the beginning of the year, the windows were replaced in all the toilets used by pupils at the Technical School. A total of thirty windows were fitted. This investment is worth RSD 3,553,980.00.

Plans for this year include repairing the waterproofing of the flat part of the roof, replacing the floor in part of the corridor and refurbishing the specialist classrooms.
The capital project is the conversion of the heating from fuel oil to gas. The necessary documentation is being prepared and, as the Mayor points out, the City will endeavour to secure the funds needed to carry out this project.

According to Mayor Beč, the City will continue to work in the coming period to ensure that every school has all the conditions needed for teaching to run smoothly and suitable working conditions for teachers.
