Today, at the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Mayor of Smederevo, Jovan Beč, signed the Contract on Co-financing the Implementation of an Afforestation Project for the Protection and Preservation of Landscape Diversity in 2023. The contract on co-financing the afforestation project sets out funds of RSD 1,470,000.00, with the Ministry providing RSD 975,000.00 and the City providing its own contribution of RSD 495,000.00.
The funds received from the Ministry will be used to purchase 125 saplings of native tree species and to green part of the Ćirilovac retention basin in Smederevo, all with the aim of increasing green space and improving the state of the environment in the territory of the City of Smederevo.
Mayor Beč stresses that, as before, the City will continue to follow all calls for applications issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, because a healthy environment is one of the leading priorities of the local government.
It is important to note that today 53 contracts were signed at the Ministry of Environmental Protection with representatives of local government units, in accordance with the Public Call for Applications announced on 30 January.
