Third League of Little Champions in Smederevo

Published

The League of Little Champions, organised by the Smederevo Sports Association in cooperation with the Serbian Association for Preschool Sport and Physical Education and the Sports Association of Serbia, and with the support of the City of Smederevo, today brought together around 600 little ones from the Preschool Institution “Naša radost” at the city’s Sports Hall.

“We are organising this lovely sporting event for the third year in a row, and it has become a well-known event that brings together our youngest citizens, their families and everyone who believes that sport, play and spending time together are an important part of a healthy and happy childhood.

I am particularly pleased and proud that the Sports Association of Serbia and the Association for Preschool Sport have recognised us as the city that organises this event best, and as the host of the largest ‘League of Little Champions’ in Serbia.

For us, this recognition is a great honour, but at the same time an obligation to keep working to take this wonderful sporting event to an even higher level year after year, to the delight of our children, their parents and all the citizens of Smederevo,” said the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, at the opening ceremony, stressing that the City of Smederevo remains committed to investing in sport and creating conditions for its further development.

At today’s event, children aged five to seven showed their agility and team spirit on various sports obstacle courses and in various disciplines. The main aim is to help children develop their motor skills properly from an early age and acquire healthy habits.

The national final of this initiative will be held in September in Belgrade as part of the Sports Fair.
