Published

Today Smederevo hosted the third “Danube Ten”, a 10-kilometre street race, and the second “Urban Half Marathon”, a 21-kilometre race, which brought together a large number of competitors from Serbia and abroad.

The participants were greeted at the start by the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, who stressed the importance of such events for the city and the community.

“Events like this recognise and highlight the sporting spirit for which our city is known, and they are also an ideal opportunity to present Smederevo’s tourism potential. The route itself gives this race particular value, linking the most beautiful parts of our city: the view of the Danube, the Obrenović Villa, the Jugovo picnic area and other places that bear witness to the beauty and attractiveness of Smederevo. The local government proudly supports events like this because they promote healthy lifestyles, determination and perseverance, as well as the strength of togetherness,” the Mayor said.

On that occasion, she wished all the competitors a successful race and thanked the organisers for their effort, dedication and excellent organisation of this important sporting event.
