A session of the Local Employment Council of the City of Smederevo was held in Smederevo today, at which the proposed public call to unemployed persons for the award of self-employment subsidies and the proposed public call to employers for the employment of unemployed persons from hard-to-employ categories for 2024 were adopted. Both public calls, with all the details, will be officially published on 23 July in the publication “Poslovi” and on the website of the City of Smederevo.
“In line with the national policy pursued by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, aimed at having as few unemployed residents as possible, the City of Smederevo has for many years been co-financing the active employment policy measures provided for in the Local Employment Action Plan. Under the agreement that the local government signed with the National Employment Service, this year the City of Smederevo has allocated RSD 17 million in its budget for active employment policy measures, of which RSD 5 million has been set aside for the public works measure, which is already under way and covers a number of people who can earn an income by taking part in it. Two Smederevo public utility companies, “Zelenilo i groblja” and “Vodovod”, are taking part as partners in the implementation of the public works.
With the support of funds from the Republic for implementing measures in the field of self-employment and the employment of hard-to-employ persons registered with the National Employment Service, Smederevo branch, the City of Smederevo has a total of RSD 23,529,411.77 available this year.
The effects of the active employment policy measures, which have been implemented continuously in the territory of the City of Smederevo for years, have proved very positive, and the local government will therefore continue to implement them in future, so that we have as few unemployed fellow citizens as possible,” the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, points out.
