Senjak boiler room running on gas since yesterday

Published

With its commissioning in recent days, the project to convert the boiler room in Senjak has been fully completed in Smederevo.

Following system tests, since yesterday it has officially been using the new energy source to heat the premises of the “Diznilend” kindergarten, 183 flats in residential buildings and three households in its immediate vicinity.

To mark the occasion, the boiler room was visited today by the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, the Member of the City Council responsible for urban planning, utility services and environmental protection, Snežana Ranković, and the Head of the Department for Urban Planning, Construction and Investment, Dragan Krstić.

In conversation with the Director of PE “Grejanje”, Vladimir Kulagić, they learned about the operation of the boiler room’s new system, which has a capacity of two megawatts and uses gas instead of heating oil.

As a reminder, the project to convert the boiler room in Senjak was carried out with funds of RSD 35 million provided by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

Three boiler rooms in Smederevo currently run on gas: Majdan 1, the boiler room in Jovana Krajišnika Street, which has used gas from the start, and the newly launched boiler room in Senjak.

Design documentation for conversion from heating oil to gas is ready for two more boiler rooms in the city, in the Miloja Đaka neighbourhood and in Papazovac, and documentation is being prepared to replace the boiler rooms in four schools in the City of Smederevo.
