Results of the first hundred days presented

Published

To mark 100 days since taking office, the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, today presented the results of the local government’s work over the past three months at a press conference.

“Most of the work was on refurbishing kindergarten and school buildings, and more than RSD 46 million was allocated for this. The internal gas installation has been completed at the kindergarten in Radinac, and at the beginning of April a gas boiler room was put into operation at the ‘Diznilend’ kindergarten in Senjak. In Skobalj, construction of a new kindergarten has been completed which, like the kindergarten in Drugovac, will be ready to open in September this year. Heating has been installed in the new part of the Music School, and by the start of the new school year the old boilers at the Grammar School, the Technical School and the Economics School, as well as at Primary School ‘Branislav Nušić’, will be replaced and the buildings will be connected to gas. During the holidays, work will also be carried out on other school buildings, and we have allocated RSD 80 million for this.

The most important environmental project for the City of Smederevo is certainly the completion of the Transfer Station at Godominsko polje, and I am pleased to say that the work is already almost 90 per cent complete. A water supply network worth RSD 16 million is under construction at that site, and in the coming days work will also start on access roads to the station worth RSD 50 million. For the operation of the Transfer Station, we have also launched the procurement of 5 new lorries to bring in waste from 27 villages. We have also allocated money from the budget for the project to remediate and close the existing substandard landfill.

In the field of environmental protection, two designs have also been completed for replacing the boiler rooms in the Miloja Đaka neighbourhood and in Papazovac, and a design for the ‘Majdan’ boiler room is currently being prepared.

Work has also been done on drawing up the detailed regulation plan for building a water supply network for Moravski Vod, and we have applied to the relevant ministries for funds to build a water supply network for Seone. Funds have also been planned for the vacuum sewerage project for the entire Industrial Zone. By applying to a call of the Ministry of Construction, the City is also seeking to resolve the reconstruction of certain locations, buildings and streets in the city (Park ‘Tri heroja’, the plaza in front of the Cultural Centre, repairs to the roof covering of the Technical School and the repair of Miloša Obilića Street).

Over the past three months, we have continued to support agriculture through production subsidies and by providing hail protection.

The procedure for resolving property and legal relations for the football stadium has also begun, the liquidation of the old Tourist Organisation has been completed and the procedure for forming a new one has begun, and we are supporting the nomination process for inscribing Smederevo Fortress on the UNESCO list,” the Mayor, Jasmina Vojinović, said, among other things.
