Press release

Published

Following the response of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, from which the City of Smederevo requested an expert opinion at the end of last year on the condition of the steel structure of the flyover in Smederevo, and after consultations with the competent expert services of the City of Smederevo, it was concluded that certain repair measures need to be carried out on the flyover in order to achieve greater safety for all road users.

Accordingly, a decision was made to replace the railings on the flyover and to ban pedestrians from the bridge while the works are in progress, while vehicle traffic will run in accordance with the new restrictions set out by traffic signs and in accordance with the Law on Traffic.

Vertical traffic signs have already been put up, warning pedestrians to observe the ban on movement.

We appeal to all road users to respect the rules of the road, so that together we can contribute to greater safety and enable the forthcoming railing replacement works to proceed smoothly.

The flyover has been officially closed to pedestrian traffic as of today, 26 March.
