Site preparation began today in the grounds of the “Pčelica” kindergarten in Papazovac for the construction of a new central kitchen building for the Preschool Institution “Naša radost” in Smederevo.
The central kitchen, with a total gross floor area of 892.73 square metres, will be used to prepare meals for all the buildings of the Preschool Institution “Naša radost” Smederevo.
The investment, financed by the City from its own budget, is worth RSD 402.5 million including VAT, and the works are scheduled to be completed within one year of the date the contractor takes possession of the site.
“The City of Smederevo has concluded a contract with the contractor for the construction of the new central kitchen, and we expect to start this important work soon.
With this project we will gain a modern, functional and well-equipped kitchen from which food will be distributed to all the other buildings of our preschool institution.
Our plan is to convert the old kitchen space in the “Pčelica” kindergarten in Papazovac into rooms for kindergarten groups in the coming period, which will further expand capacity,” the Mayor said, adding that this is more good news following the signing of the contract to convert the “Monopol” building into a modern preschool.
“Caring for the youngest is always a priority for the local government. With these two major projects, the City of Smederevo will significantly improve its preschool infrastructure and solve the problem of the waiting list,” the Mayor said.
