Smederevo hosted the panel “Stronger than you think”, devoted to the economic empowerment of women and the development of women’s entrepreneurship.
The event was created and moderated by the well-known television presenter Sanja Marinković, who, in conversation with successful women entrepreneurs from Smederevo, shared stories and valuable advice on building your own brand, overcoming business obstacles and motivation.
The panel participants were welcomed by the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović.
On that occasion, she stressed how important local women entrepreneurs are to the development of the whole city:
“The City of Smederevo strongly supports all women who have had the courage to start their own business.
Women entrepreneurs are an important driver of our local development. Your energy, knowledge and perseverance show that there are no limits.
This panel is a great opportunity to connect better and to show that every woman, in her work and in her life, is stronger than she thinks,” the Mayor said.
Speaking about all the challenges they faced on the way from business idea to success, Smederevo entrepreneurs Jovanka Miljković, Jovanka Lisov and Ivana Stevanović shared their experiences with the audience at the panel.
Their stories confirmed that obstacles are an integral part of any business development, but also that the goal can be achieved through perseverance, adapting to changes in the market and a willingness to learn from mistakes.
The panel also served as motivation for all women with business ideas to take heart and take the first step.
“The messages from this gathering have shown that every beginning is easier when there is mutual support and the support of one’s surroundings, which also helps to overcome the fear of failure,” said the panel’s author, Sanja Marinković, among other things, expressing the hope that the experience, knowledge and energy shared by successful businesswomen would inspire other women and give them a boost.
