The Mayor of Smederevo, Jovan Beč, together with the head of the “Diznilend” facility, Maja Ćirković, Member of the City Council responsible for culture, tourism and information, the Director of the Preschool Institution “Naša radost”, Mirjana Krstić, and her assistants Jasmina Stević and Lidija Ćoso, visited the “Pčelica” facility, which belongs to the Local Community “Papazovac”.
Last school year, work began at the “Pčelica” facility on refurbishing one unit comprising four groups, two children’s toilets and a staff toilet. The furniture in the playrooms has been completely replaced in line with the applicable rulebook on the detailed conditions for opening and equipping kindergartens: with mobile and low shelving, new cupboards for cots and bedding, and chairs and tables.
In addition, the parquet has been sanded, the fluorescent lighting replaced with LED panels, and the walls skimmed and painted. In the toilets, the plumbing and sanitary ware have been completely replaced and new tiles laid. Renovation of the toilets in the second unit is currently under way, and the playrooms in this part of the building are also due to be renovated.
In conversation with the directors, Mayor Beč stressed that the City will support every project aimed at providing good-quality conditions for our youngest citizens.
