A festive get-together with children from foster families was organised today at the City Administration in Smederevo.
On that occasion, the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, handed out gift packages and extended her greetings for the forthcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, wishing the children carefree days spent in good health and joy.
She also wished the older children success in studying hard and acquiring new knowledge, which is one of life’s greatest values.
She thanked the foster carers for the love and care they give the children every day in carrying out this humane and noble role.
The get-together took place in a pleasant atmosphere, full of togetherness, positive energy and festive spirit.
There are 54 foster families in Smederevo that are generally eligible to foster and have children placed with them. In addition, 4 families are generally eligible to foster but currently have no children placed with them. At present, there are a total of 116 people in foster care.
New Year gift packages are also being handed out these days in the rural and urban local communities in the territory of the City of Smederevo, so as to make the festive days even more special for every child.
