EXPO mascots Rastko and Milica in Smederevo

Published

As part of the 139th Smederevo Autumn, the EXPO mascots Rastko and Milica took a stroll across the City Square today, attracting a great deal of attention from festival visitors, especially the youngest.

They were welcomed by the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović. She stressed that Smederevo sees the EXPO exhibition as a great opportunity to further promote the city and its potential.

“Smederevo will have its place in the ‘Serbian House’, and it certainly has plenty to show. As a former capital of Serbia, Smederevo has not only business potential but also an exceptionally rich tourist offer. We are a city of fruit and vegetables, a city of rich history and tradition. Wherever tourists turn in Smederevo, there is something to see, from the Obrenović Villa and the City Square, to the Danube, 27 kilometres of whose banks belong to our city, to Smederevo Fortress.

We see this major event as our chance to present everything our city is and has to offer. At the same time, I would like to invite all citizens, not only of Smederevo but of the whole of Serbia, and guests from around the world to be part of this great event, for which 140 countries have registered so far,” the Mayor said.
