The Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, today signed a contract with the Republic Property Directorate on taking over the football stadium, which will henceforth be the property of the City.
“This is a great day for all the citizens of Smederevo and for me as Mayor, because we have fulfilled a big dream when it comes to our stadium.
This sports facility is of special importance to us, and we want to refurbish it in the coming period.
Very soon we will have artificial turf so that we can play matches on our home ground without disruption and give our players proper conditions for achieving sporting success.
We want to bring Smederevo back into the football world, where it belongs. We had a SuperLiga club, football that was played in Europe; I think this is a big thing, and I am delighted that we have succeeded,” says the Mayor.
