Today, at the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Snežana Ranković, Member of the City Council responsible for urban planning, utility services and environmental protection, signed on behalf of the City of Smederevo a contract worth a total of RSD 3.2 million for co-financing the implementation of the project to prevent illegal waste dumping and remove dumped waste in 2025.
The Ministry has provided RSD 1.3 million and the City of Smederevo’s contribution is RSD 1.9 million, and the funds will be used to remove the illegal dump in Vodanj.
“The signing of this contract is one of the important steps the local government is taking to solve environmental problems so that we can have a healthier living environment, as today, 5 June, which is marked worldwide as World Environment Day, also reminds us,” said the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović.
