The first baby of 2025 was born in the Smederevo maternity hospital on 1 January at 14:45.
The mother of the boy, who weighed 2,880 grams, Andrijana Spasojević, received a congratulatory gift of one hundred thousand dinars, presented to her on behalf of the City of Smederevo, with best wishes, by the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović.
Gifts were also given to five boys and one girl born since the start of the year, so Smederevo is now six babies richer.
The Mayor thanked the medical staff, through whose dedication and commitment the little ones come into the world, for their work so far, and wished them much more work in the coming year in one of the most beautiful fields of medicine.
In 2023, a total of 820 babies were born in Smederevo, and in 2024, 831, that is, eleven more.
