Apart from grapes, wine, fruit and other agricultural products, Smederevo is also known for its industry and various manufacturing and service activities, as shown by the business exhibition that opened yesterday at the Cultural Centre as part of the 137th Smederevo Autumn.
The stands present part of Smederevo’s economy, from small and medium-sized enterprises to large companies such as HBIS GROUP Serbia Iron & Steel d.o.o Beograd, PKC Wiring Systems d. o.o., the railway vehicle factory “Želvoz” and others.
In addition to learning about their product ranges, visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to find out more about the operation of Free Zone Smederevo LLC, the company EKO SAN, several insurance companies, the Regional Development Agency “Braničevo-Podunavlje” and other businesses.
“Smederevo Autumn is always a good opportunity for us to present our city’s business environment, and for the companies and firms operating in our area to present their work and the products and services they offer to the market in an original way.
More than 3,900 sole traders and more than 1,000 companies operate in the territory of the City of Smederevo, including large companies that employ a significant number of our fellow citizens in ferrous metallurgy, metal processing, the manufacture of machinery and various equipment, textiles and other fields.
All businesses are equally important to us, which is why the City of Smederevo is working to create the most favourable business climate possible for them to operate normally. We are focused on equipping the sites in our industrial zones with infrastructure, but also on providing everything needed to attract investors with new business ideas,” said Mayor Jasmina Vojinović as she declared the exhibition open.
