A commemorative gathering was held today in Lipe near Smederevo to mark 27 years since two air defence officers were killed during the NATO aggression: Lieutenant Colonel Blagoje Radić and Captain First Class Robert Lajčak.
Wreaths were laid at the memorial by representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces, family members of the fallen, numerous associations and organisations, and, on behalf of the City of Smederevo, by the Assistant to the Mayor, Lazar Stojanović.

Paying tribute to the fallen officers and expressing deep respect for them, those present recalled their courage and the sacrifice they made in defence of their homeland.
Those present were also addressed by the Commander of the First Air Defence Missile Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Nebojša Kokanović, who said that we will forever preserve the memory of Blagoje Radić and Robert Lajčak, that their sacrifice must not be forgotten and that it must serve as a guide for future generations.
