Statement from the Office for Common Affairs and Emergency Situations

Published

Following the heavy rainfall in the territory of the City of Smederevo, an inspection of all first- and second-order watercourses has established that there is currently no danger of flooding or of any threat to people and property, that watercourse levels are safe, and that no standing water has been recorded in the road ditches that serve as road structures for draining stormwater from the carriageway.

The Republic Hydrometeorological Service has issued a warning that significantly rising water levels are expected on the River Danube in the coming days, from 19 to 21 September, in its upper reaches, at Bezdan, Apatin, Bogojevo, Bačka Palanka and Novi Sad.
