With the acquisition of the specialised “Oko sokolovo” vehicle, Smederevo has, as of today, a modern traffic control system.
This technology, already in use in larger cities across Serbia, will improve road safety in Smederevo and help reduce the number of illegally parked vehicles, increase pedestrian safety and improve compliance with traffic regulations.
The “DACIA SANDERO” vehicle, which will soon be put into traffic control service, is equipped with state-of-the-art high-resolution cameras and GPS systems that record all traffic offences by drivers in real time, especially in zones where parking or stopping is prohibited.
The recorded data is automatically processed and forwarded to the competent services, which then issue penalty notices.
The specialised “Oko sokolovo” vehicle should also help reduce traffic congestion and speed up the flow of vehicles through the busiest parts of the city.
Smederevo is thus joining other cities that use advanced technologies to manage traffic more efficiently and raise safety levels.
The public will be informed in good time of the date on which the specialised “Oko sokolovo” vehicle will be put into traffic control service.
