In the beautiful setting of the Small Town of Smederevo Fortress, a ceremony was held today to present prams for babies born since the beginning of this year, a new support measure introduced by the City of Smederevo to help families and give additional support to its youngest citizens.
Addressing the parents present, the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, said that there is no greater joy for a city than the moment it gains a new resident, and that every baby born represents a new life, new hope and the most beautiful promise that the future belongs to those who come after us.
She stressed that the prams are a symbol of the City’s attention and care for every child and every family, and confirmation of the local government’s commitment to continue investing in measures that support parenthood, childbirth and children growing up.
“Our greatest success will not be new buildings, roads or projects. Our greatest success will be as much children’s laughter as possible on our streets, as many full kindergartens and school playgrounds as possible, and as many young people as possible building their future right here, in their Smederevo, in their Serbia, which is also the policy of our Government and our President, Aleksandar Vučić,” the Mayor said.
She thanked the parents for choosing what she called the most beautiful and most responsible role in life, wished their children a healthy, loving and happy upbringing, and added that children’s smiles are the greatest incentive for the local government to work even harder and better, so that children in Smederevo can grow up carefree and families can live in dignity.
By introducing the presentation of prams, the City of Smederevo has expanded its system of support for families, confirming its commitment to contribute, through concrete measures, to a better quality of life for its youngest citizens and their parents.
The ceremony brought together many parents with their little ones, who, in a pleasant atmosphere and in the presence of representatives of the City of Smederevo, received the City’s gift, intended as a symbol of attention and support for families from the very start of parenthood.
