From 30 January 2024, the Municipal Police works in two shifts.
These are:
- first shift from 07:30 to 15:30,
- second shift from 14:00 to 22:00.
The Municipal Police, primarily through its preventive action, prevents and suppresses breaches of public order governed by municipal and other regulations.
It prevents unlawful acts in areas specified by law and, by applying the measures it is authorised to take or by informing other competent authorities and cooperating with them, contributes to maintaining order and respect for the law and other regulations.
Citizens are informed that, in carrying out its municipal policing duties, the Municipal Police monitors public areas, with particular emphasis on illegally parked vehicles. In both the first and the second shift, illegally parked vehicles will be removed in cooperation with PUC “Parking servis” and penalised by the Municipal Police by issuing a misdemeanour order for the offence committed.
In addition, in order to prevent the creation of dumps and irresponsible behaviour by citizens, checks are carried out on the disposal of rubbish at certain locations.
