From Saturday, 14 March 2026, free preparatory classes for the final examination for eighth-grade pupils will begin at the Regional Centre for Professional Development of Employees in Education in Smederevo.
Last year, around 200 pupils took part in this programme and, in lessons with expert teachers, broadened their knowledge of mathematics and Serbian, prepared more easily for the end-of-primary-school examination and gained self-confidence.
Precisely because of the excellent response from parents and children, the City of Smederevo decided to continue this good practice in cooperation with the Regional Centre.
This year, classes are held every Saturday and Sunday as double lessons in groups of no more than 25 pupils, who will be taught by expert and experienced teachers.
“Our obligation as a local government is to create the conditions for young people to stay in Smederevo and in their own country, and to build their careers and start families here, which our President, Aleksandar Vučić, also advocates.
Investing in education always pays off, and the City of Smederevo will always support parents and their children through their schooling and further professional development,” said the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, speaking about the preparatory classes for eighth-grade pupils, which begin this weekend at the Regional Centre for Professional Development of Employees in Education.
