The first baby of 2026, a boy weighing 3,170 grams, was born in the Smederevo maternity ward on 3 January at 21:00.
On this occasion, the Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, today visited the newborn’s mother, Ana Milanović, offering her warmest congratulations and sincere wishes for a happy and successful start to parenthood.
On behalf of the City of Smederevo, the Mayor presented the mother with a congratulatory gift worth RSD 100,000, as well as gifts for the baby.
Gifts were also given to a mother who recently gave birth to the fourth child in her family, and the Mayor warmly congratulated her, pointing out that this is an encouraging and positive example in Smederevo.
The Mayor expressed particular gratitude to the medical staff, whose commitment and dedicated work create a safe and caring environment for a happy start in life for every baby, and wished them as much work as possible this year.
