With the presentation of awards and a screening of Emir Kusturica’s cult film “Do You Remember Dolly Bell?”, the ninth “Dunav Film Fest” came to a festive close last night in the Small Town of Smederevo Fortress.
Over the six days of the festival, 40 films were screened in four programme strands.
Nine films took part in the competition programme, and the winner of the “Danube Boat” award for the best film of the ninth “Dunav Film Fest” was chosen by a jury made up of Ana Filipović, art historian and film critic, Sara Novak, French-Serbian actress, and Igor Toholj, director, producer and filmmaker with many years of experience.

This year’s Danube Boat for best film went to “Rose” by Markus Schleinzer.
At the ninth “Dunav Film Fest”, the award for best screenplay went to Tanja Brzaković and Hajdana Baletić for the film “The House”.
The award for best director went to György Pálfi for the film “Hen”.
Jelena Bosanac won the award for best acting for her role in the film “The House”.
The closing evening also featured the film music concert “Film Rhapsody”, at which Dušan Sekulić performed on the accordion with his band and the Bečej City Choir.

This year, too, the festival brought together film lovers of all generations, offering them the chance to enjoy a wide variety of works of world cinema over six days.
Screenings were held at several attractive locations: the Small Town of Smederevo Fortress, the plateau by Karađorđe’s Mulberry Tree, Danube Park and the Cultural Centre, making film once again an important and distinctive part of Smederevo’s cultural life.
