Published

With awards for best film, screenplay, direction and acting, the 7th “Dunav Film Fest” came to a close last night in the Small Town of Smederevo Fortress. Over the five days of the festival, more than 40 of the most important films from the Danube basin were screened.

This year again, the festival brought together large audiences and renowned filmmakers and actors in the open air at four locations in the city.

With this festival, Smederevo, as a city of rich history and cultural heritage, has once again confirmed its important role on the cultural map of Serbia.

The festival awards at the 7th “Dunav Film Fest” were decided by a jury made up of director Jasna Nanut, actress Dajana Gudić and sculptor Viktor Kiš, who announced their decisions at the closing ceremony.

The festival’s main award, the “Danube Boat”, went to Gábor Reisz’s film “Explanation for Everything”, while the award for best screenplay went to Iveta Grófová and, posthumously, to Peter Krištúfek, who began the original screenplay for the film “The Hungarian Dressmaker”, which Grófová completed.

The award for best direction at the 7th “Dunav Film Fest” went to Emanuel Pârvu for the film “Three Kilometres to the End of the World”. The award for best acting went to the young cast of the film “78 Days”. The award was presented to the winners by Aleksandra Mitić, Member of the City Council of the City of Smederevo responsible for education and culture. The “Dunav Film Fest” was organised with the support of the City of Smederevo and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, and was produced by the Smederevo Cultural Centre.
