The Mayor of Smederevo, Jasmina Vojinović, today visited voluntary blood donors at the blood drive organised every Monday and on the last Thursday of the month at the Sports Hall. Congratulating them on their humanity and highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation, she presented the participants with gifts from the City and the Smederevo Red Cross.
Thanks to its donors and successful blood drives, Smederevo has received the Champion of Solidarity Plaque five years in a row and has been nominated for it again this year.
During this year’s winter campaign, 900 units of blood were collected, and over 1,000 units of this precious fluid in the summer campaign. Nearly 70 donors gave blood at today’s drive.
