On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Government of the Republic of Serbia is awarding subsidies to mothers for the purchase of their first property. This programme is part of the pro-natalist measures aimed at encouraging births and supporting parenthood.
The right to funds for building, contributing to the purchase of, or purchasing a family house or flat on the basis of the birth of a child may be exercised by the mother of a child born on or after 1 January 2022, provided that she is a citizen of the Republic of Serbia and has permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia. If the mother has died, the child’s father may exercise this right.
The funds may be used to build, buy or contribute to the purchase of a family house or flat. The maximum amount granted is EUR 20,000.
Applications are submitted through the competent authority of the local government unit within one year of the child’s birth.
