Direct elections for members of the national councils of national minorities will be held on 8 November 2026.
Only members of a national minority who are entered in the separate voter register of that national minority are entitled to vote in elections for members of the national councils of national minorities. Every member of a national minority who is entered in the unified voter register has the right to be entered in the separate voter register of the national minority. Entry in the separate voter register is made on the basis of a written application, according to the place of permanent residence or, for internally displaced persons, the place of temporary residence.
The separate voter register of a national minority is inspected using computer equipment by entering the citizen’s unique master citizen number, in order to check whether the citizen is entered in the separate voter register and whether the recorded data are correct.
Citizens can submit applications every working day from 7:30 to 15:30 to the City Administration of the City of Smederevo, Department for General Administration and Local Communities, voter register office no. 71.
Application forms for entry in and removal from the separate voter register are available on the website of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, www.minljmpdd.gov.rs, and can also be obtained in office no. 71.
The application for entry in the separate voter register must be filled in legibly and signed by the applicant. All the details in the application must be filled in exactly as they appear on the applicant’s identity card.
The separate voter register of the national minority closes on 23 October 2026 at 24:00.
After the separate voter register of the national minority has closed, from 24 October to 4 November 2026 at 24:00 (no later than 72 hours before election day), applications for entry in the separate voter register of the national minority may be submitted to the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, directly or through the Smederevo City Administration, according to the place of permanent residence.
From the declaration of the electoral list, authorised representatives of the submitters of declared electoral lists have the right to inspect the separate voter register of the national minority.
The separate voter register can also be inspected online on the official website of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, www.minljmpdd.gov.rs, by entering the unique master citizen number.
During the inspection of the voter register, the person authorised to update the separate voter register and the person providing technical support must act in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection.
