The Law on Hospitality (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, No. 17/2019) requires hospitality providers who provide accommodation services in home-based accommodation facilities (house, apartment and room) and in rural tourism household facilities to have these facilities categorised.
Applications for categorisation are submitted through eTurista.
In this regard, WE INVITE all natural persons who provide accommodation services contrary to the above law to contact the local government unit as soon as possible and submit an application for the categorisation of their accommodation facility (house, apartment, room or rural tourism household).
Once the categorisation ruling has been issued, the hospitality facility and the hospitality provider will be registered in the eTurista system, which will allow them, in accordance with the regulations in force, to continue providing accommodation services lawfully.
A natural person may provide hospitality services in such categorised facilities directly or through an intermediary, which may only be a legal person or a sole trader. Where an intermediary is used, the natural person and the intermediary conclude a contract, which is submitted to the local government authority for registration.
Otherwise, under Article 92, paragraph 1, item 9) of the above law, the natural person is liable for a misdemeanour, with fines ranging from RSD 150,000 to RSD 350,000.
