We remind citizens that property tax is paid quarterly during the year, with each instalment falling due in the middle of the quarter. The fourth-quarter instalment for the current year is due for payment on 15 November 2023.
All citizens can settle their liabilities by this date without incurring default interest. Default interest at an annual rate of 16% will be charged on all payments made after this deadline.
The amount of the fourth property tax instalment is set out in the tax assessment ruling for 2022. When paying the fourth instalment, any outstanding debts should also be settled in order to avoid enforced collection proceedings.
Property taxpayers can check the status of their liabilities with the Local Tax Administration every working day from 7:30 to 15:30, in person or by telephone on 026 / 613-269.
Undeclared property is subject to penalties.
We call on all citizens who have not yet submitted a property tax return (buildings and land) to do so as soon as possible, as failure to declare property is a tax offence under Article 180 of the Law on Tax Procedure and Tax Administration.
