Given the time of year, the citizens of Smederevo are urged to respect the ban on burning cereal crop residues, burning rubbish in the open and burning plant residues, and on lighting open fires in forests and within 200 metres of the forest edge.
Burning plant residues leads to uncontrolled outdoor fires, which cause major material damage and casualties.
The ban on burning cereal crop residues, rubbish and plant residues is laid down in the Law on Fire Protection; failure to comply is punishable by a fine of RSD 10,000 for individuals and from RSD 300,000 to RSD 1,000,000 for legal entities.
Respect the ban on open burning!
